Pakistan in driver's seat
What a forgettable day it has been for Bangladesh! They have
used nine bowlers today but have only managed to pick up three wickets. They
enjoyed a decent start, dismissing Hafeez in the fourth over of the day. Azhar
and Sami Aslam put up a 49-run stand, but Taijul ensured he got Aslam soon
after. With Younis Khan's arrival at the crease, things for Pakistan changed
dramatically. He shared a 250-run partnership with Azhar Ali, as both batsmen
brought up their respective centuries. Unfortunately for Bangladesh, they got
both the batsmen out off no-balls, a mistake that cost them dearly.
Ideally, Pakistan would have wanted them to continue but
Mohammad Shahid was successful in dismissing Younis with only five overs left
in the day. For the moment, Pakistan are in firm control of the proceedings.
The hosts will have to take some early wickets tomorrow to prevent the visitors
from posting a huge total on the board.
Milestone : Azhar Ali follows Younis
It was not long before Azhar Ali got to a well-made Test
century as well, his eighth in this format in 212 balls. He might have taken
more time in getting to the milestone, but his knock has been a responsible
one. The partnership has crossed 200 and Pakistan have dominated Bangladesh
comfortably.
Milestone : Younis scores a ton
What a splendid batsman Younis Khan is! He proved that once
again today after scoring a fabulous hundred, his 29th in Tests and third
against Bangladesh. He got to the milestone in just 142 balls. The knock has
included 9 hours and a six so far. Pakistan have comfortably crossed 200 as
well. On the other hand, Azhar Ali is nearing a hundred of his own.
